Cop gets bail in Rashid Rauf case
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday accepted the bail plea of head constable Muhammad Tufail who is accused of facilitating the escape of Rashid Rauf. Rauf had escaped from police custody on December 15, 2007, when he was brought to the Islamabad district courts from Adiala Jail A single-member bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam granted the bail. The defence counsel argued that the provisions in the case did not support the imprisonment of Tufail. staff report
